I’m doing good so far- down about 3 pounds, which I attribute to PMS bloating. I still haven’t gone to the gym, but I’ve been busy with Henry and Chase’s sleepover.
I haven’t been drinking either, except one nice glass of (Barefoot) merlot last night after the boys finished their shaving cream war. This was my brilliant idea after getting Ben to like his showers by letting him play with shaving cream! He loves it (and I like giving him a shower because it’s cleaner and more efficient). Once he was old enough to walk, he always got out of the baths before he was done anyway. Seeing him have fun with the shaving cream inspired me to let the boys have a shaving cream war at their sleepover birthday!
They LOVED it. I felt like a kid just watching them. If you do decide to do this, here are my tips: (1) Do it outside. (2) Count on about 2 cans per kid. (3) Use the cheap stuff. (4) Supervise with a towel to intermittently get it out of their faces. (5) Hose them down in their clothes. (6) File them into laundry room with towels. (7) Let them change into their PJs while tossing their towels and clothes into the washer.
Pretty easy! I definitely felt like the cool mom, but I’m glad they had a good time.
For breakfast, I made a variation of this. I steam-sautéed 3 sliced mushrooms, added 1 whole egg plus 2 whites, then a blanket of spinach. I covered it to help steam the spinach and flipped it like an omelette.
I used to love putting salsa or hot sauce on my eggs, but this past year, I’ve been a ketchup person (and I never was before). The whole breakfast had right at 200 calories and basically no carbs except for the ketchup.
I went to Target and Marshalls today and got some powdered peanut butter. Have you ever tried it? I haven’t, but it’s got only 45 calories per 2 Tbsp, as opposed to 200. It’s also got 5 grams of protein. I’m going to add it to a smoothie and see how it goes. I also ordered these CALORIE FREE noodles from Amazon! They’re made from some weird tuber I’ve never heard of and have only about 15 calories per serving. They look like rice noodles, and I’m thinking a spicy Thai-inspired dish would be good (like this soup) or maybe try it with a bolognese type sauce? Have you ever had these?
At Marshall’s I bought another Lucky flannel shirt- I love them so much. They remind me of my childhood, but they’re so cute, too (and good for pms days honestly). Also have you ever been on the lookout for something forever and gave up on it, only to randomly find the one of your dreams? I’d been looking for some little bracelets like these since March and finally found these for $10 on clearance. They’re cuter than any others I’d seen. My picture is a wink to those cool people who photograph their Rolex in front of their Benz steering wheel. For me it’s $10 costume jewelry and a Honda Odyssey!
